Hot
Springs.
Only 28 km north of Copan via a dirt road,
that will take you through many small coffee plantations,
you can reach some natural hot springs. These are ideal to
soothe your body after a long day at the ruins or horseback
riding. The trip takes about one hour each way and offers
you the option of a natural pool in a mixture of cold and
hot running water or artificial pools.
Horseback
Riding.
The Copan Valley offers many options for horseback
riding. You can choose from a trip to nearby "Los Sapos"
part of the Copan archaeological complex, to some of the stelaes
that are found throughout the Copan Valley or to the forested
mountain tops around the town itself. Duration of the tour
can be between one and four hours, depending on the option
you choose.
Coffee
Plantation Tour.
Only 18 km. from Copan is the Santa Isabel
Coffee Farm, located at approximately 3000 ft above sea level.
This interesting farm offers you an insight to the coffee
process from its growing to the harvesting and drying of the
bean. The tour is most interesting between the months of November
through March, as this is the time of the year when the coffee
berry is harvested and the bean is dried.
