Punta
Sal National Park
A fantastic park located only 60 miles from San Pedro Sula,
but accessible only by water, Punta Sal is a unique reserve
with abundant bird life, which is divided into two basic areas:
The peninsula and the Los Micos Lagoon. The peninsula is home
to a tropical rain forest, and is inhabited by various interesting
animals, the most visible of which is the Howler Monkey.
The tour departs from Tela early in the morning, where you
board your motorboat to Punta Sal. Once at Punta Sal, your
the tour includes stopping at several beaches.
En route, you may be lucky and see many dolphins. You will
cross the peninsula by foot during a 2.5 minute hike over
flat land to arrive at the very secluded cove of Puerto Escondido,
reputed to have been a pirate hang out, where you will reboard
the boat. Hn route you may see different birds and with luck,
some of the noisy howler monkeys which inhabit the area. Lunch
is served at a pretty beach, before returning lo Tela. This
tour is available as an option for guests staying in San Pedro
Sula and La Ceiba. Snorkeling equipment is provided.

Lancetilla
Gardens and Tela Beaches
Just outside of Tela lies the second largest tropical botanical
garden in the world: Lancetilla Gardens, Established by the
Tela Railroad Co. as an experimental planting station, the
garden is full with tropical plants from around the world,
many of them bare exotic fruits, which have attracted a multitude
of tropical birds that have made the park their home. Huge
bamboo forests add a mystical atmosphere.
For guests who originate in San Pedro Sula or La Ceiba, after
the guided tour of the gardens, we will continue to the famous
beaches of Tela, some of the best in Central America. Here
you will have time to enjoy the ocean and the sun, after having
a light lunch.

Punta
Izopo National Park
Located on the eastern end of the Bay of Tela, this National
Park gives you a hands-on opportunity to mix into the nature
of the reserve. From Tela, you will take a jeep lour along
the beach to our embarkation point. From here we will continue
on sea kayaks and enter the mangrove canals, giving you a
chance to see alligators and birds native to the mangrove
forest. Upon returning to Tela you will have time to enjoy
the beaches and have a light lunch.
